10 Tips to Simplify your Work

1. Don't boil the ocean. Start Small.

When we make changes in one area of our business, they can have a ripple effect on other items. Start small do not try to change everything at once.

2. Understand the process before you start.

Understanding the process start to finish, before and after, so you can understand how changes you make will impact both the process you are changing and those that work in tandem with it.

3. Focus on Value

Once you have mapped the process, dig deep, look for activities that add value and those who don't.

4. Understand Your Motivation

There are many reasons to simplify how you work, beyond saving time. Such as collaborating more or meeting your customer's needs; regardless of what it is, know the reason.

5. Do it as a team.

When doing anything, do it as a team. To help with having the best understanding of the process while also achieving buy-in.

6. 80/20 Rule

80% of your results will come from 20% of work (In most cases). Know when the additional effort will not have the ROI you need.

7. Give yourself a deadline.

You can simplify things forever. Giving yourself a timeframe will encourage you to work faster and know when to stop.

8. If the change isn't working. Pivot.

If your first or tenth idea :) is not working. Don't be afraid to change direction.

9. Celebrate Small and Big wins!

Celebrate along the way helps to keep the momentum going and see your progress. However, do not forget to celebrate when you finish.
